The Thread Series 7: Sin
Every Monday, 7pm–8pm, from 13th May for eight weeks, on Resonance 104.4fm.
Listen, Virtue, you’re a bit too late, the Garden party’s in dire straits, the bread’s been scoffed, the wine’s been downed, we sold off the collection plate. You bring anything? No? Didn’t think so. Take a seat, though, and listen. From the static modern dirge emerges the spectred howl of Sin!
Behind our apprehension of fetishism, mammalian sloths, lusty politicians, climate change and soap operas, the categories of ’sin’ and ‘virtue’ serve an organising function bolstering up, constricting and stratifying our legal, political, social and physical bodies. Tune in for 8 shows exploring, tracking and extracting some of the infinitesimal shards of the moral compass smashed in the Enlightenment.
Watch this space for more information about the series and the individual shows coming soon.
Every Tuesday, 7pm–8pm, from 5th June – 3rd July, on Resonance 104.4fm.
How do we keep things and why? What are the problems and the joys of storage? In this new season of The Thread, we look at the things we put aside but can’t forget about, such as toxic waste and dead bodies, and the things we want to keep forever but can’t, like energy and memories. What we can’t or won’t throw away speaks volumes about our culture.
